Jenny Ayrton

Many of her scenes have a domestic twist and are directly influenced by her surroundings. Jenny has two young daughters, and whenever possible she tries to see the world from their viewpoint. Jenny finds inspiration in the mundane and overlooked; a washing line blowing wildly on the first day of spring, an unknown couple on a park bench, a door ajar giving just a glimpse of what lies within…

Jenny graduated from Plymouth College of Art in 2012, in 2014 she was selected for the Crafts Council’s prestigious Hothouse 4 programme. Her work has been featured on the cover of Craft & Design magazine, won awards at three London shows, and had a piece selected for the 2015 British Glass Biennale. Jenny is an associate member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen. She now sells her work through galleries, and offers a commissioning service for bespoke scenes.
