Linnette lives in Midlothian and is originally from Langholm in the Scottish Borders where her background was in textiles.
She is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art where she graduated in 2010 with a B.A. in Art and Design..
Linnette says of her work:
“The majority of my work is influenced by the landscape of the Scottish Borders and my affinity with the Mull of Kintyre. In these places I am aware of a visual interplay of the rolling hills, the moods and memories of land and the seascapes with the same atmospheric open spaces and natural textures.
These elements flow through my work using a palette of greys, gold, orange and white. Collage is used in areas to enhance rugged ground and portray the impact of tidal movement and waves, whilst dark skies create an atmosphere and a brilliance of light never absent on the shores of the Mull.
Kintyre and the Borders lend themselves to all of these elements – both magical lands of ever changing moods.”
