Jo is a local artist who lives with her husband, two teenage daughters and a menagerie of various pets and animals, many of whom feature in her work!
She discovered felting through a workshop and since then has developed her technique of ‘painting’ with silk and wool fibres and then wet felting or needle felting the finished piece.
Jo is constantly inspired by the beauty of the natural world and discovering felting meant also discovering a means to capture and express that beauty.
Much of Jo’s work is about immortalising memories. The process of working with the fibres is a peaceful and therapeutic one and there is always a sense of wonder to see the final piece which emerges
